This is a short, sweet book that has only one objective- to make you sharper. It's really short and everything is sacrificed for the sake of this objective, so there are a couple of minor flaws to the book. However, in my opinion, the advantages are superior to those perceived flaws.Traditionally, let's start fromCONS1. It's short.I breezed through the book in 30 to 40 minutes. It’s definitely not for someone who loves to read thick volumes.2. It's shallow more than once.Does Raza gloss over some points of the book? Absolutely. This book is simply too short to contain all the facts, research and stories. It's also short on specific instructions sometimes. For example, when it comes to reading, the author doesn't provide a plan for implementing this habit. He mostly focuses on making the point, so a reader will deem reading important enough to start this activity. Raza provides a few good points on how to get the most of your reading, but he doesn’t say a word about how to make reading a habit.A lot of people nowadays suffer from the distraction syndrome and reading regularly is difficult, bordering on impossible, for them.My tip is: start with reading 10 minutes a day (2 minutes if you cannot really stand 10 minutes). If you notice your attention span is too weak even for that, if you focus on just surviving those 10 minutes instead of on the content, switch to a 5-page goal (1 page, if you really cannot read five pages).3. It's a mishmash. For some points, the author provides some research. For others there is only anecdotal evidence. And for the rest, Raza provides stories from his experience. This is nitpicking, I know. It's true, nonetheless.PROSDespite all the cons, “Think Faster…” has a lot of pros. You see, it's clear that the author sacrificed everything for the sake of simplicity and brevity.1. It's short. You can get through the book in less than an hour and get busy making yourself smarter.2. It's shallow here and there. How much of reading instructions do you need? You either read or not. You either are physically active or not. Those are so simple activities that wasting word count on them is a sin. So, the author didn't inflate his word count and you can start making yourself smarter sooner.3. It's a mishmash.Diversity begets creativity. There is a basic structure in the book anyway. Each method, each chapter contains 'what' and 'how' parts. And there is also a refreshing diversity in the methods themselves. Getting smarter is not just about accumulating a lot of knowledge. And yes, running or lifting weights will make you smarter, no matter how counterintuitive it may be for you.4. Focus. The whole book is focused on one objective- providing the tools to a reader needs to get smarter and motivating him to implement them. It's not a theory book. If you want to get smarter, you need to get busy implementing the tips Raza provides. Ruminating about them will do you little good. Thus, the book is short and to the point. It could use more content here and there, but you will not find an ounce of fluff in there.5. Implementation. The whole last chapter is dedicated to implementing what you've just read. Action is what provides the results. The book is short and simple, so you, a reader, can get busy improving yourself as soon as possible.6. Simplicity.None of the tools Raza mentions are rocket science. The most complicated activity he prescribes is programming. I code a bit, not much. I tell you, if you dealt with basic math, you can learn the basics of programming. It is more about the logic and structure than about solving complex intellectual puzzles.Everybody can become smarter if they put some smart effort into improving themselves.Raza Imam did a very good job with "Think Faster..." This book is not an encyclopedia. It is a truly simple and concise guide that explains how to be faster, sharper and smarter with your mind.

I started (and admittedly was moved to review, prior to finishing) this book. It may contain some helpful tidbits, but I find the errors in word choice/grammar/spelling to be distracting. Some of it seems as though it's not geared towards people who already know how to study and learn from what they read. It might be a good guide for a high school student to learn study habits, for example, but if you are an educated adult looking to quicken your mind, it is unlikely to be helpful. I like that it talks about empathy, though, and learning from mistakes. There seem to be a lot of people around who could use reminders about empathy, and we all can use more practice at acknowledging and learning from our mistakes.I'd like the book a whole lot better if more care were taken into word choice, though. It needs some polishing.

This is a no-fluff guide to improving your mental capacity with some unique tips you won’t hear elsewhere such as using mistakes and empathy to learn faster. Great read!

This book is really a practical guide to faster thinking and learning. It shows surprising ways on how one can improve brain's power by simple practical tricks. I liked chapters on running and lifting weights to improve your mind. I realized that I need not scare of committing mistakes, and take more of the calculated risks.Overall, Raza has done a good research and backs up his argument with science and psychology. It surely delivers on promise. recommended one.

Still a few typos but cool read, nothing I didn't know but it's always great to get good information reinforced. I hope this is a good read for my teenage son

Always interested in more shortcuts when time is such a valuable commodity these days. Short and to the point. Thanks Raza!

I thoroughly enjoyed Raza’s approach to being concise whilst being informative. Also, his ability to be personal without being private.Disliked, one or more errors found.Overall...Awe-inspiring!!

Over all a good book, a lot of simple ideas to try. Hopefully some of the information will stick with me.
